Description

We will meet at the indicated time in Plaza Eduardo de Castro, in front of the Episcopal Palace of Astorga. Did you know it is a neo-Gothic gem designed by Gaudí? The artist’s influence is as present in this city as it is in Barcelona.

Just a few steps away, we will admire the Baroque façade of the Cathedral of Santa María, an essential stop for pilgrims walking the Camino de Santiago. By the way, the Jacobean Route holds many mysteries and legends that we will reveal during this tour of Astorga.

We will continue our walk towards Plaza de España, where we will see another architectural treasure of the city: the Town Hall of Astorga. On its façade, above the clock, you can spot the maragatos. Would you like to know who they are?

Next, we will pass by the Roman remains of Astorga, founded as an important military stronghold in the province of Hispania: the Legio X Gemina. Afterwards, we will head to the city walls of Astorga, where we will enjoy beautiful panoramic views of the city.

After one hour of touring, we will say goodbye and bring the experience to an end.
